There are many reasons why your gun may not fit correctly. Some of the most common problems include the comb being too low resulting in a poor view along the rib, as well as the length of the pull being too short, which can cause you to shoot high to perceive more recoil and develop a cramped style when using the gun.

No matter the reason for your poor gun fit, our custom gun fitting service can ensure that this issue is rectified.

What is gun fitting?

A gun fitting, whether a shotgun fitting or rifle fitting, involves experts making adjustments and alterations to your gun to ensure it fits correctly and your shooting access is improved.

What are the benefits of getting your gun custom fitted?

Getting your gun custom fitted is important because a gun that is fitted correctly is going to shoot where you look. It will also be comfortable to mount, meaning you can keep your eyes on the target. For game and clay shooters, you can enjoy the shoot and ensure the experience is not stressful. After all, at no point should you be worrying about whether your master eye is in line properly, regardless of whether one eye is closed or not, and a gun fitting ensures this.

What types of gun can be fitted?

If you are looking to have you your gun custom-fitted, we provide our service for a wide range of rifles and shotguns. We work with numerous brands, including Browning, Miroku, Caesar Guerini and the top English shotguns too.

How long does a gun fitting take?

A gun fit session in our premises will typically take between 20 minutes and 1 hour. However, this can differ depending on the age, make, and model of your gun, yet most sessions do not exceed two hours. Once you bring your gun in for a fitting, we can inform you on the turn around time.

What does a gun fitting involve?

The gun fitting process in our premises involves us checking your gun mount and seeing where you are aiming when given a target. We will check various measurements of the stock: length, cast at heel and toe and bend at comb and heel. We will also check how you are holding the grip to see if it’s comfortable and no excess of wood is in the way.

With our experience in stockmaking we can detect any issues and fix any issues that we find. We have managed to alter many stocks with great success on game and sporting guns.

What if I already have my gun stock measurements?
