What is gun servicing?

A shotgun service is something every owner needs to invest in. This involves the professional cleaning of your gun and checking all of the parts to make sure that everything is operating as it should be.

The gun will be fully stripped and cleaned, with the parts lubricated and reassembled. All of the components are assessed and the gun can be tightened if required.

What are the benefits of gun servicing?

There are many benefits associated with gun servicing, including the following:

  • Safety – A dirty gun is a dangerous gun, and so gun servicing is required to make sure that your gun is safe to use.
  • Reliability – If you do not maintain your gun, it is going to start to succumb to wear and tear, just like any other piece of equipment, which is why a professional service is a must.
  • Protect your investment – Guns are investments, and you want to ensure that they keep their value and last for many years to come. Gun servicing is the only way to make sure that this is the case.

When we conduct gun servicing, we will inspect the barrels, check trigger pull, safety system, mechanisms, barrel dents, barrels ribs, as well as removing lead residue. We also check the stock and forend wood for cracks and splits.

How often should you get your gun serviced?

This depends on a number of factors, including the age of your gun and how often you use it.

The weather conditions also make a difference too. Experts recommend that you have your gun serviced at least once a year, although a lot of people get their guns serviced more regularly than this.

How much does gun servicing cost?

There are a number of different factors that can determine how much gun servicing costs. This includes the type of gun being serviced, the manufacturer, and the extent of the damage if any.
