Chapuis Armes is located close to St Etienne in France, the historical French gun-making area since the 18th century. Chapuis Armes continues to maintain this heritage by offering ever more qualitative shotguns and rifles in line with the new trends.

When an idea is born, it has to be realised and brought to fruition. Achieving this goal is no small feat. A large amount of resource and huge machining centres were required to achieve this goal. But these machines are nothing without the talent of their master gunsmiths who work tirelessly to refine their work, chip by chip, to ensure the highest quality shotgun.

Chapuis Armes is the biggest manufacturer of double rifles.

Their knowledge of ballistic is exceptional and second-to-none. Their shotguns, Over and Under and side by side are very popular due to their design, elegance and balance. The round body action is available on nearly all their ranges.

There are 3 different ranges for the Chapuis shotguns and double rifles: Classic, Artisan and Grand Luxe. All three share the same barrels and actions, offering a different level of engraving, grades of wood, level of finish and options.

Chapuis Armes has been part of the Beretta Group since March 2019.

The Chapuis Classic is the entry model, laser engraved, good grade of walnut for the gunstock with possibilities to have it ready 'off the shelf' or bespoke made too.

The Chapuis Artisan is very interesting because it can be fitted to your measurements. You can choose your own gun stock blank and choose your engraving which is done by hand and signed. The stock will be made to your measurements at the factory. You also have the option to choose any specification that is available.

The Chapuis Grand Luxe is their top of the range shotgun with exhibition gun stock; more delicate engraving with again many options available.

Can I buy a second-hand Chapuis Armes shotgun?

As gunmakers, we really believe that the Chapuis Artisan represent excellent value for money.

That range is extremely popular with our customers which is why we sell both new and second-hand Chapuis Armes shotguns.

They are also famous for their double rifles so of course, we can supply double rifles again in the different ranges available and calibres as small as the 22 Hornet to 6.5X57, 7X57, 8X57, 9.3X74, 30-06, 375HH and up to 470NE.

We have sold many double rifles to our customers who enjoy wild boar shooting abroad, shooting big and small game in Africa and even deer in Scotland.

Very recently Chapuis Armes launched their new bolt action, the Rols, also available in different grades and calibres too.

Every Chapuis shotguns and rifles are well made, robust and elegant. They do feel right as soon as you mount them to your shoulder. Many reviews have been made here in the UK and many different models have been tested, the conclusion was very positive!

Can I have my Chapuis Armes shotgun repaired, fitted and serviced

At Stephen & Son, we always stock many different Chapuis shotguns and rifles and can have any made to your specification with our gun fitting service.

It takes about 3 to 4 months to have a Classic Chapuis made, about 4 to 5 months for an Artisan and about 10 months to 12 months for a Grand Luxe. Alongside our stock of Chapuis Armes shotguns, we also repair and service these products too.
